A Picture and Four Words

At St. Margaret’s we are called to: Worship God. Serve those in need. Welcome our neighbor. Share the faith! In just a few words, that defines our mission.
Alicia Ruhl has been able to digest three years of Pastoral Council and staff conversations, parish surveys and town halls into a masterpiece of truth, simplicity, and insight. Do you see the four hearts? Love in action!
Pope Benedict’s first encyclical Deo Caritas Est (God is Love) stated it succinctly: “The Church's deepest nature is expressed in her three-fold responsibility: of proclaiming the word of God (kerygma-martyria), celebrating the sacraments (leitourgia), and exercising the ministry of charity (diakonia).” You will notice that we’ve added a fourth: Welcome. See Mark 12:28 – 34. I John 3:16-18. Matthew 28:16-20. Thank you, Alicia!
