California Priest – Covid-19
The Diocese of Sacramento reported that one of their priests tested positive for Covid-19 the week after the parish re-opened for public Masses. He and his deacons were not wearing masks while distributing communion. I don’t know of any Catholic parish following correct safety procedures that has been identified as a Covid-19 “hot-spot.” I’m not saying that it couldn’t happen. It appears that our procedures are keeping people safe. If you have an underlying health condition that puts you at risk, then the best safety strategy is to stay at home as much as possible. If you have a fever or other symptoms of Covid-19, please stay at home and consult your physician. If you are basically healthy and venture out, our safety procedures will greatly reduce your risk.
