After three years of double-digit increases, regular parish income dropped by $29,000 July 2019 - June 2020. Your Parish Finance Council advises that we should prepare for an additional 10% drop this year. Your parish staff is working hard to identify ways we can reduce costs and still fulfill our mission to Worship God, Serve Others, Welcome our Neighbors and Share the Faith. Some changes have been made already, and others are being studied. · We have dropped the 7:00pm Sunday Mass. · We reduced the number of appliances in use. · We are evaluating all schedules to reduce the time spaces must be cooled or heated. · We are considering closing the church and offices on Fridays and may move the Thursday evening Mass to Thursday morning. · We are carefully evaluating all parish functions and ministries. · We are carefully re-evaluating our building plans to consider our reduced ability to borrow and make loan payments. Some costs may go up. Live-streaming and video conferencing have become necessities, and parishioner expectations of quality and reliability are rising. Our equipment was not made for what we are asking it to do, and our systems are cobbled together. To spend more in one area means more reductions in others. With God’s help, your parish is up to the challenge.
