Little Brothers of the Lamb
On Wednesday of Holy Week I made a delivery to the Little Brothers of the Lamb, a religious community that shares the gospel as they live in poor areas here and around the world. Their monastery is in KCK off Central. I asked how their neighbors are managing without being able to go to work. Little Brother Louis Marie told me, “They are all working.” The neighbors are all poor, minority, not covered by health insurance, many with underlying health issues, not able to social distance, all exposed. He shared that one of their neighbors, a father of three aged 28, is hospitalized with the coronavirus, on a ventilator, and is not doing well. All of his family members are quarantined. As challenged as we may be, let us remember that some others are facing challenges that are even greater.
