Public Mass: Safety Volunteers and Ushers Required at Every Mass
I really, really want all Masses to be open to the public, with as little hinderance as possible. However, we must have a volunteer – preferably two – at the door at every Mass. “Safety” volunteers welcome everyone at the door, share the basic safety protocols that we must follow, and ensure that we have the names and contact information for all attending. Ushers assist all people entering the church to find seating, safely distanced from others. They also assist the communion procession, and safety while leaving. Please volunteer for these essential ministries. By Saturday at noon, if we have not received sufficient volunteers to open a Mass to the public, we will do our best to notify everyone who has registered. That Mass will be live-streamed, but not open to the public.
