As you will recall, in last weekend’s bulletin I shared with you that on “Father’s Day one of my sons told me over the phone that he hadn’t been feeling well and was waiting for Covid-19 test results. Because I visited him the week before, I realized that IF he had had the coronavirus then he could have exposed me, and IF I had it, I could have exposed others. You…... Thankfully, the chancery was able to arrange for an immediate test, and I received the results the next day: No Covid.” And now, the rest of the story—although I was blessed and received my test results in less than 24 hours, my son did not receive his until after the previous bulletin had been sent to the publisher. He called me on Wednesday and told me that his test was also negative. So no Covid for him either. Valerie and I are both grateful for God’s answer to our prayers for both myself and our son. So let’s remember the good lesson here. IF I had the virus, our procedures at the parish would have limited the chance that I would spread it to anyone else. Your safety procedures would have limited your chances of catching it. And just in case, we would have known exactly who to notify about any possible exposure. Any of us could be exposed at work or with our families. Continue to be safe.
