Mary Goforth has been a resident of Lee’s Summit since 1978 and is deeply rooted in both her family and faith community. She is the loving mother of two children, grandmother of seven grandchildren, and great-grandmother of seven great-grandchildren.

As a charter member of St. Margaret’s Parish, Mary has dedicated countless years of service to the parish community. She served as the parish’s first primary musician and played a key role in securing donations for the purchase of the church’s grand piano. One of her greatest joys has been collaborating with the talented musicians of the St. Margaret’s Combo and sharing her gift of music in worship.

After retiring from her career following 20 years of service, Mary was invited back for several additional years before retiring once again. Today, she continues to serve the parish part-time as a receptionist and is honored to occasionally provide music for Mass.

Mary’s favorite activities include spending time outdoors with her family, enjoying fellowship with her parish family, and making homemade candy to share as Christmas gifts. Above all, she treasures the friendships, faith, and sense of belonging she has found at St. Margaret’s and is grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive community.
