Get Involved

Being part of a parish is about more than just attending Mass—it’s about belonging to a community that grows, prays, and serves together. At St. Margaret's, our ministries are the primary way we live out our faith and support one another.

Whether you are a lifelong parishioner or brand new to St. Margaret's, there is a place for your unique gifts here.

Ministries at St. Margaret's

Knights of Columbus

Knights Of Columbus.png

The Knights of Columbus serves God, our priest, and our church and parish with a strong spirit of service and generosity. Members are always ready to help the pastor or any parishioner in need, stepping in wherever support is required. The organization raises funds not to keep, but to give away to meaningful and worthy causes, including the Special Olympics of Missouri, Coats for Kids, and baby bottle drives that support pregnancy resource centers by funding ultrasound machines. They contribute to ASAP (Aid and Support After Pregnancy), donate wheelchairs for the handicapped, support the Little Sisters of the Poor, and take part in pro-life efforts such as Roses for Life. In addition, they provide funding and deliver meals to senior citizens through the One Good Meal program and support community improvement efforts like Adopt-a-Street. The Knights participate in Cor, which is Latin for “heart,” a program designed to refocus Catholic men on Jesus Christ and strengthen their faith.

Reach Out/Outreach Friendship Ministry

The Reach Out/Outreach Friendship Ministry supports a variety of community-building and service activities, including monthly BINGO on the second Tuesday and a Lunch Bunch that meets once a month at rotating restaurants. The ministry also hosts an annual Mother’s Day weekend baby shower for St. Mary’s Home for Mothers and organizes a Christmas Giving Tree to support Catholic Charities. Members assist with the parish picnic as needed, serve as greeters at funerals, plan day trips to historical or educational sites, and volunteer at the Hillcrest Thrift Shop.

WinGS

WinGS (Women in God’s Spirit) is a Catholic Women’s group. We encourage spiritual growth through Scripture study, life sharing, prayer and community.

We are open to women of all ages who would like to grow in connection to God through book studies, video series as well as selected speakers. One of the important benefits of this group is our connection to each other and to our parish. Through prayer, social interaction, guest speakers, personal reflection and small group sharing, we become more aware of our own unique spiritual gifts and how we are called to help build up the Kingdom of God.

We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month (9:30 – 11:30) in members’ homes. Dates are connected to the district school schedule. We begin each meeting with a Social, where we reconnect with each other and share a cup of coffee and a light snack. After a short business meeting, we begin our study for the week.

The book for 2026 - 2027 has not been selected, but will be available at the first meeting.

Garden Club

The St. Margaret of Scotland Garden Club works to beautify and maintain various outdoor flower, vegetable beds, and bushes. We believe well-maintained grounds are a living welcome to people and spreads our message of a joyous community.

Our vegetables are donated to Lee’s Summit Food Pantries to provide healthy food for those in need in the area.

Meetings are generally held on the 2nd Saturday of the month, March through October at 9:00 AM. Other work hours are spent as needed.

Feel free to show up on any meeting Saurday with gloves and clippers!

Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary supports the Knights of Columbus in supporting our parish's mission. We promote charitable activities and sociability among the members. The Auxiliary is open to any practicing Catholic female age 18 years or older.

Our Activities provide us the opportunity to form friendships and also serve Christ by serving our church and our community.

We meet on the third Thursdays every other month at 7 pm. Watch the bulletin for meeting details.

St. Margaret of Scotland

Choir

St. Margaret’s Choir is open to volunteer singers of all experience levels and sings at the 10 a.m. Mass on the third Sunday of each month. Rehearsals are held in the church at 9 a.m. on the first three Sundays of the month. The choir’s repertoire includes both traditional and contemporary hymns arranged in four-part harmony. While all are welcome to join, singers with choral or vocal experience are especially encouraged to participate. Music is provided in advance, allowing participants to prepare at their own pace.

Little Lambs

Lamb Logo.jpg

Little Lambs is a ministry for our youngest parishioners and their caregivers. Designed for children under the age of 10, Little Lambs introduces the beauty of the Catholic faith through short, simple lessons and hands-on activities.

In these early years, children are just beginning to form their understanding of Christ and His Church. Little Lambs seeks to nurture those first experiences of faith, while supporting parents in their role as primary educators of their children. Let's grow in faith together!

We offer group catechesis on the second Sunday of each month following the 10am Mass in the Holy Family Room, along with seasonal liturgical activities throughout the year for families to participate in together.

To stay informed about upcoming gatherings we encourage you to sign up for our email list. If you would like to volunteer or are looking for faith-filled resources to use in your home, please reach out to Nicole Padley.
